Chronic Conditions And Diet

Treating Chronic Conditions With Diet

The members of my immediate family suffer from a variety of chronic conditions, from asthma to dyslexia to hyperactivity. In each case, these disorders were linked to foods and/or food additives. This "food connection" is viewed with skepticism by mainstream medicine. Ask your doctor about it, and he will declare it "unproven" (at best), or "dangerous nonsense", as though it made no difference what you put into your system. Meantime, he asks for premium gasoline, because he wants only the best for his car. Go figure.

In order to disseminate this important information, and support those who are attempting diet therapy, I have written a series of articles describing my experiences. The Pathways Development Group was kind enough to publish these articles in its monthly magazine during the fall of 2000. Please review these articles and send me any feedback.

Note that I am not trained in medicine, pharmacy, or nutrition, hence I am not qualified to give advice in any of these areas. What follows is merely a personal account (anecdotal) of my experiences and observations. diet therapy is not right for everyone, and may not be appropriate for you or your child. If you are battling a chronic condition, you are encouraged to work directly with your physician, pharmacist, therapist, or nutritionist. In fact you might want to seek advice from all these specialties; you never know which mode of treatment will prove most effective.
